One of my favorite fall activities is baking. On rainy and cold evenings I like to bake a cake and then enjoy it with a cup of hot chocolate while watching a movie or reading a good book. The weather in Madrid has been unusually warm until now but hopefully we will get fall weather soon. Not that I'm complaining about sunny days but it feels weird to be wearing summer clothes in the middle of October.
Today I want to share with you my favorite recipes to bake on those gloomy days. The first three are new recipes that I've never shared before, the other two are old favorites of mine. You may miss Pumpkin Pie from this list. As much as I love it, I decided to skip it to give you some new things to try.
That's the one on top, it's from Williams Sonoma and it's super easy to make. All you have to do is mix all ingredients together, fold in some berries, bake and decor with more fruit and confectioner's sugar.
Caution, they are addictive! These seed cookies from Leelalicious are a healthy treat great for breakfast or to take to work as a snack.
Apple and cinnamon, do I need to say more? This cake is from one of my favorite food blogs The Little Spice Jar. I've made a few recipes from her and they've all become part of my recipe box.
Together with pumpkin, chestnuts are my favorite fall food. They are very popular in Spain at this time of year, street vendors sell them roasted in the street. I love to roast them at home or make a purée that can be used for a cake or as stuffing.
Last but not least, Spanish pastries with nuts. Have them for breakfast or to invite people over for tea.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram because I often share step-by-step recipes on InstaStories and other exclusive content that doesn't appear on the blog.
