Mondays We Cook: Chocolate Cake

chocolate cake biscuits nuts recipe

Today I bring you a recipe where the main ingredient is hands down the most popular comfort food of all: chocolate. Apart from its yumminess other strong points of this cake are that it's super easy to make and you need few ingredients that you probably have in your house already. It works as a desert or you can dunk it in your milk/coffee for breakfast. Oh, and you don't even need an oven!

Ingredients:
300 gr (10.5oz) of chocolate
300 ml of milk
biscuits
nuts

Directions:
Cook the chocolate and the milk until it becomes a thick mixture in a pot and stir constantly so that it won't stick to the bottom of the pot. Let it cool.

Line the mold with tin foil. Put a layer of biscuits on the bottom. You may need to cut some of them to fit the shape of the mold. Biscuits are supposed to be moistened before inserting/cutting them. You can use either milk or sweet wine for that.

Then, add a layer of chocolate. After that alternate layers of biscuits and chocolate until you run out of the latter. Finishing with a layer of chocolate. Decorate as you wish. Put in the fridge for a couple of hours.

  16. I love this! We usually break the biscuits into pieces and also use cognac and sweetened condensed milk for the cream!
