When it comes to holidays, I always choose beach over anything else. I also love the countryside and mountains but they are not my number 1 choice. However, there are marvelous places where you can get both like Lake Tahoe. Tahoe is undoubtedly an incredibly beautiful place. It was a long drive from San Francisco but definitely worth it. I fell in love with the landscape and the environment. Since my visit, Lake Tahoe holds a special place in my heart. So today I'd like to share with you a photo diary and some tips for those heading to Lake Tahoe for the first time.
WHAT TO DO
There's a variety of things to do depending on the season when you plan to visit. In the summer, you can hike through the mountain trails or sail on the lake. In the winter, you can snowshoe, ski or sit by a warm fire and enjoy a cup of warm chocolate.
You can also...
Visit the shops at Heavenly Village
Drive around the lake (takes around two hours) and stop at the vista points to enjoy the view. In my opinion, the best one is Inspiration Point at Emerald Bay so don't miss it!
Find the magnificent Vikingsholm Castle, one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the United States
Visit Tallac Historic Site
WHERE TO EAT
Go to Riva Grill for a typical American dinner with beautiful views of the lake
Driftwood Cafe, a popular breakfast spot in Heavenly Village
To get the best views go to The Boathouse at Timber Cove Marina
The perfect place for vegetarians is Sprouts Cafe
However, if you fancy something spicier you should go to The Blue Agave Mexican Cantina
WHERE TO STAY
Whether your are looking for something affordable or you want to spoil yourself there are plenty of options in Lake Tahoe.
Tahoe Luxury Properties will help you find the perfect place to spend your days in Tahoe in style.
WHAT TO WEAR
Activewear is the best option since there's a lot of walking to be done
Wishing you a lovely week,
