El Perro y La Galleta, Madrid

The Dog and the Cookie. A unique name for a unique place. This is a cozy and modern restaurant in front of El Retiro Park at the beginning of a street where you'll find some of the best shops in Madrid. The name comes from the owners' love for their two dogs and their family link with the famous Fontaneda Spanish cookies company. I had first come across this place during a shopping spree and immediately added it to my restaurant bucket list.

Rustic tables and beautiful light welcomed us as we walked through the door. The decor pays tribute to British clubs and dogs. There is a collection of vintage radios, cameras and telephones as well as doggy portraits. The beautiful decor is paired with great music which results in a wonderful ambiance. Dog lovers and their furry best friends are of course welcome. If you decide to go to El Perro y La Galleta prepare to spot some celebrities, actors like Pierce Brosnan or fashion designers like Riccardo Tisci have eaten here.

WHAT WE ATE

• Tuna tataki burger with quinoa salad 
• Hake with wine mayo and veggies
• Angus burger with a fried egg, caramelized onion, bacon and cheese

The presentation of the dishes is as impeccable as the decor. While we waited for our meal, we fell in love with every single dish we saw the waiters carrying. We loved all three dishes, they were very different from each other but equally delicious. We were also delighted with the service right from the moment we entered. Due to the scorching heat we've been suffering in Madrid for a few weeks we weren't hungry enough to get dessert. I was a bit disappointed to leave without my sweet treat but looking on the bright side, now I have an excuse to come back.

OUTFIT DETAILS
Earlier on that very same day I had bought this A&F yellow eyelet dress which is a must from the Abercrombie summer sale. It comes in yellow, white and black. It's perfect for so many reasons:

• the shape is very flattering (full skirt and tight bodice is my favorite type of dress)
• the straps are adjustable
• it has pockets
• the length is perfect both for work and play

I also got this beautiful pink mini dress with sweetheart neckline that I can't wait to show you. You know I'm a huge fan of Abercrombie dresses. Every summer I find "the dress of the summer" at their stores. In 2014 it was this navy dress with pink flowers, in 2015 this white lace dress and in 2016 this red dress with white flowers.
