If you love a good coffee place, you can't miss these spectacular cafes. One thing they have in common is the amazing decoration which will make your coffee/tea experience even more amazing. Whether you like cozy vintage coffee shops, being surrounded by the most beautiful plants and flowers or splendorous and exquisite 19th century cafes, I've got you covered. So what are the best coffee shops in the world?

Here is my roundup of the most amazing, unique and breath-taking cafes around the world.

10 Amazing Cafes Around the World

Sydney, Australia: The Grounds of Alexandria
I had been obsessed with The Grounds long before our trip to Australia. To me, entering the Grounds felt like Charlie entering Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. I was in awe. This dreamy venue consists of different areas that serve as cafe, restaurant or market stalls. The impeccable decor, high quality products and adorable animals are just some of its strong points. It's so amazing that commuting for 45' in Sydney to get breakfast or brunch is totally worth it. Oh and they sell their own homemade granola, be sure to pick up a bag!

Boston, USA Tate Bakery
A beautiful coffee shop with an unbeatable location in the heart of downtown Boston. The amazing quality of their products and vintage decor will make you fall in love with this place. It's very popular among locals and tourists alike so the downside is that it gets really busy during breakfast time. But it's still great for brekkie and brunch!

Boston, USA Nero
Cafe Nero is one of the coziest coffee shops I've ever been to. It looks like a library and has a few sofas so it's like hanging out in your living-room. Perfect for work or hanging out with friends, I guess Cafe Nero qualifies as home away from home, right?

Budapest, Hungary: New York Cafe
New York City Cafe is the self-proclaimed "most beautiful cafe in the world". The decoration is exquisite indeed. There was live music, with a trio of musicians playing at the top of the stairs, and we felt as if we were having lunch in the middle of Vienna New Year's Concert. I strongly advise you to make reservations, we had to queue anyways, but you have to wait longer if you haven't booked a table.Come here for high tea as well!

Budapest, Hungary: Gerbaud
Gerbeaud Cafe is one of the most famous confectioneries in Hungary. Just like New York Cafe, they do not only serve delicious comfort food but also fish or meat dishes as well as sandwiches and salads. This beautiful cafe opened its doors in 1858 and has a unique elegance and classic style. As soon as you get in you feel as if you were part of a 19th century novel. There are not that many places that make you feel that way, right?

Madrid, Spain Salon des Fleurs
Picture yourself having a warm beverage among the most beautiful flowers. That is Salon de Fleurs, a beautifully decorated flower shop with a few lovely chairs and tables to hang out in the prettiest environment. The best time to visit this spot is Christmas when it is transformed in winter wonderland.

Paris, France: Au Vieux Paris d'Arcole
It's a lovely Parisian cafe but a little bit different from the typical cafeteria with bistro chairs perfect for people watching that we dream about. The plant covered facade and purple chairs and tables make this spot unique. Located near Notre Dame and Shakespeare and Co bookstore makes Au Vieux Paris d'Arcole a must stop during a day of sightseeing.

Vienna, Austria Cafe Sacher
Sacher cake is one of the most famous types of cakes in the world. If you go to Vienna, you must have the original one at Cafe Sacher. This grand cafe is famous for the dessert with the same name or as Viennese call it "Sacher Torte", a delicious chocolate cake filled with yummy apricot jam that used to be Emperor Franz Josef's favorite.

Venice, Italy: Cafe Florian
In the iconic Piazza San Marco in Venice you can find Cafe Florian. Its origins go back to the 1700s which makes it the oldest cafe in Europe. It preserves its Neo-Baroque splendor with uniformed waiters serving coffee and prosecco on silver trays while you are sitting on plush maroon banquettes.

  2. Yesss this post is right up my alley! Definitely coming back to it for later ;) Is the Cafe Nero in Boston the same as the British Cafe Nero chain? I 100% agree with you about New York Cafe in Budapest... I honestly just felt out of place, like it was too fancy for me! So beautiful though. There are so many lovely cafes across Europe to visit. In Vienna I can also really recommend Demel for amazing cakes and Viennese coffees.

  8. OH my goodness! I so want to visit all of these cafes especially the ones in Hungary. They look so beautiful and inviting. I bet it's a different way of having coffee. Those macaroons look pretty yummy too. How cool would it be to have a tower of macaroons right about now?! I hope you are having a great weekend and happy Sunday!
