We are living special circumstances. We are living a situation never known before to any of us. This confinement situation felt like something that only happens in movies just a few weeks ago and look at us now. Unbelievable. I really hope you and your loved ones are well. I want to send you my best thoughts and wishes. Hang in there, this too shall pass.
Because of the lockdown we've had to postpone some of our travel plans, but that doesn't mean we are any less excited about traveling, quite the opposite. We can't wait to get out again and enjoy our beautiful world. Meanwhile, let's practice our cooking skills while reliving some past traveling experiences with these recipes to travel the world without living home.
Best Recipes to Travel the World: Greek Style Cheese Toastie
This sandwich is brilliant because of the amazing mixture of flavors: sweet, savory and sour. It includes a variety of ingredients such as dried apricots filled with Feta cheese, olives, red onion or mint and comes with a dip made with yogurt, cucumber and lemon. Close your eyes and you will feel as if you were in a Greek island at every bite.Follow the recipe easily with this step by step video:

Best Recipes to Travel the World: Spanish Tapas Party
Why not prepare a tapas party for the family? It's a fun activity to do at home during the quarantine. Fill your home with Spanish flavors and aromas: ham, cheese, sangria, sea food...there's something for every taste. Read the full post to get the party started.Best Recipes to Travel the World: Teddy Bear Cookies
Feel transported to a New York coffee shop with these sweet and salty teddy bear cookies by the talented Tieghan from Half Baked Harvest. I don't think I've seen such a wide variety of cookies anywhere in the world as they have in the US. I especially love the ones sold at Whole Foods, last summer we bought a different one every day to try them all. When I think of cookies and coffee I instantly think of the US.Give these adorable Teddy Bear cookies, you won't regret it. Plus, it's a great weekend activity if you have kids or of you love baking!
Best Recipes to Travel the World: Mexican Enchiladas
Another great recipe from Half Baked Harvest is this chicken tortilla enchilada rice bake. I find the vibrant colors all over Latin America very inspiring. They are on their the houses, their clothes and even the food! I love colorful food, it's 100 time more appetizing. This recipe has all the ingredients for a perfect meal: beautiful colors and an amazing mixture of flavors. Close your eyes and picture the mixture of melted cheese, coriander, avocado and lime in your mouth. Don't you feel like you are in Mexico?
Best Recipes to Travel the World: Brunch at Home
Did you know that brunch originated in England? It is believed that this meal started in England in the late 19th century and became popular in the United States in the 1930s. Set the table nicely, and make your very own brunch at home with British tea with these recipe ideas. My two favorite quiche recipes: spinach, pine nuts and raisins or ham, tomato and mushrooms.

Best Recipes to Travel the World: French Toast
So French toast is not actually French, but you can pretend you are in Paris while making the actual French equivalent: pain perdu, literally "lost bread" because you use stale bread to make it. French toast in Spanish is "torrija" and it's typical during Easter so I'll be making this recipe in the next few weeks. Voilà!Plan a future trip to Paris with these amazing travel guides
I hope you enjoyed this recipes. Let me know if you try any of them. And while this situation lasts... #stayhome #staysafe

I am with you Cristina. I am looking forward to traveling again once this situation is all over. In the meantime, I love the idea of cooking food. After all, we have so much time at home. Why not? So a little secret, I prefer to eat more than I love to cook so easy recipes are my jam! I have been a fan of pancakes but forgotten about French toast. I need to try to make some this weekend for brunch! I hope you had a great weekend and happy Monday!
